CLT FAQ

Question1:

For global issues, it is written "do not create duplicate bugs, but rather file only one global issue". Does this apply to both Bugnet and the Excel sheets? I.e. the global bug should only be inserted once in the sheet and once in Bugnet.

Answer1: It applies only to creating Bugnet issues. For the Excel reports, each screenshot containing such an issue must be reported separately in the Excel report, i.e. marked as “FAIL” in column C (Test Result), with an appropriate “Failure Reason” and “Bug Number” (which can be the same for all the “failed” screenshots with the same duplicated issue).

Question2

Several screenshots have more than one of the global issues, but there is room to report one issue per screenshot in the Excels. Please ask the client if I should just pick one of the issues in these cases? If not, please have them list the issues that take precedence in order.

Screenshot:

Global issues: 1) Tooltip (sv. Verktyg) have been truncated and 2) "Viz" have been capitalized in Swedish (Visualisering, instead of visualisering). One or both of these issues appear on most screenshots so far.

Answer2: For the truncation issue, please ignore it. The width of that pane is adjustable by a user and if it were expanded, the text would be fully visible. These issues fall under the following exception mentioned in the CLT instructions, page 4:

o   4-Truncation or Overlap: self-explanatory. Please beware of column headers – those shouldn’t be reported as they can usually be resized/expanded.

But we still suggest that you raise a question anytime you’re in doubt.

For the 2nd and 3rd issue, you can report it as one global capitalization issue, e.g. like this:

In Bugnet, you can create only 1 combined bug for the entire series of screenshots containing the same capitalization issues.

If you encounter a screenshot which will contain a different capitalization issue(-s), please log a separate Bugnet issue for it.

Question3:

if there ever were issues from more than one category for a single screenshot, can I just choose any one of the two relevant categories from the drop down menu in Excel, or does one take precedence?

Answer3: Yes, you can just choose one of the two relevant categories. Maybe if one of the issues seems to be more serious, I would choose the category which is relevant for this more serious issue.

Question4:

Please also ask the client about the placement of the dollar sign. It has not been localized in the screenshots (in English it comes before the number, e.g. $20, but in Swedish it comes after the number with an additional space, e.g. 20 $). Similar with percentage signs, which have not been localized with an additional space. This could be an issue like the date format that cannot be fixed (and thus should not be reported in Bugnet), but I thought it best to check.

Answer4: please refer to Testing-known_issues_v1.6.docx, page 7:

Resolution: applies to both – percent and currency symbols – issues.

This is "by design" because the screenshots were captured on English OS. It is formatted base off the OS regional settings. Tableau are working on getting test automation running on localized OS, so hopefully this will be fixed soon. In any case, please do not report these in the future.

In addition, this string comes from the data files which exist only in English when our functional testing team takes the screenshots for CLT tasks.
